New 6040 not working correctly

I just purchased a 6040 and the pump doesn't appear to be working correctly. At the minimum power setting the propeller spins in a clockwise direction with moderate speed. As I turn the power dial up the propeller starts slowing down and eventually starts spinning very slowly and not smoothly in a counter clockwise direction.

That is very odd, could you PM me a phone number so we could walk through some possibilities and double check some things? Are you just using the included 7090.050 controller?

Yes I am just using the included controller. Actually I think maybe this was just an issue with the pump needing to break in. I checked it again last night and it is spinning smoothly now when at full power.

That's odd though. Mine worked perfect right out of the box. Keep an eye on it.

It is possible, the drive unit tends to fit tight on the shaft it spins on when new and can simply be too tight and need a week or two to break in.
