New 6095

Around September of this year. It is not impossible it will be earlier, the range is August to October. At this point we have been testing the pump since September and the design is finished but packaging, manuals and a few molds are still needed and almost inevitably there is some last minute part glitch. I want to be clear though that 6095 is a very different pump from our current offerings, the flow is very wide and diffuse and so it is best suited to LPS and softy tanks up to 6ft long and SPS tanks that are more cube shaped and less than 4ft long, the flow pattern covers 4ft by about 30".

Yes. It would be strong and would work well if it was just SPS, but it could be turned down.

The flow is not as wide as the 6105 with 6205 shroud but is very similar to an older 6101 with 6201 shroud but with a lower volume of flow (2650 gph vs 3200 of a 6101 at 24V).

Two would work well for a 48 by 30" aquarium.

rvitko. Is there any upcoming controllable model with a wide flow as the 6095?

I'm thinking of buying one 6105 together with one 6055, using a 7096 controller for my 100g tank. But this wider flow is very interesting, it's just that I want the pumps to be controllable.

The 6095 is a very wide flow with very little force, given your tanks width and the fact that you will be doing mainly SPS which like a bit more forceful flow, the 6105's are likely better suited, the 6095's would work but probably are not ideal, they would make enough flow, but certainly tables and many other acros would like the flow stronger.

Did i misunderstand? Didn't I ask this same question and get a different recommendation? Very similar dimensions. Have I been waiting around in vain? What is the best choice for my tank?

You didn't mention you were focused almost exclusively on SPS. In general 6095 is the way to go, if you can wait, for a tank of this size, a mixed tank, softy tank, LPS tank, anemone tank. For a high flow SPS tank, the 6105 would be better suited, especially as things grow in. The 6095 almost exactly mimics the wide flow of our competition, it is for people who want that flow, it also has a smaller footprint. I don't believe it is the best type of flow in all cases, certainly many SPS would benefit from a more forceful flow.

Sorry, I should have been more forthcoming with my tank specs. With a full sps tank you would recommend 6105s, but for mixed you would recommend the 6095? Am I understanding correctly? Thanks for the help, I am very frustrated coming up with a flow plan for this tank size. I wasn't happy with my vortechs and I am currently running 6101 and I had a 6000, but it crapped out on me. Now I have a modded 6025 in its place. I am not happy with my current results, so I have to make changes.

That is correct, the reasoning is the 6095 flow will be too dispersed to penetrate large colonies of SPS after they grown in and become massive, it also won't have much force in the far reaches and higher flow SPS may suffer. The 6105 flow will be very much like your 6101.

I can't wait for the 6095 to be released... I'm thankful to have found this thread... I was having such a hard time deciding between 2 6055's or 1 6105.... I will keep waiting for it's release. Thanks Roger.
