New 6095

Hi Roger;

I have a shallow tank (36"Lx 24"W x12"H) - about 40 gallons of water volume. It will have minimal scaping (ie. not a lot of rocks - lots of swimming room).

It will be SPS dominant - would one of the 6095's be enough? The 6105's i think will be too much flow for such a small tank. I was considering an MP40es but i dont like how loud they are.

thanks in advance :)

Vince

Yes, it will work. My main concern would be disturbance of sand given how shallow the tank is.

That is correct, the flow is very wide and without the cross hatch to stabilize the flow the flow is almost like a winding very wide reversed whirlpool. I think it will create some interesting flow effects for those who want or need a very dispersed high flow.

Something very similar and more, it is actually just a software update to the existing 7096 which presently has wave mode, pulse mode, sequential mode and interval mode, 3 more modes will be added in this update which is likely due in a couple months.

so do i need to purchase the 7096 + 6095 or can i buy the 6095 and the reefkeeper tunze control module?

will the updated features you mentioned above be available on the reefkeeper tunze control module?

We have no say in the development of 3rd party controllers, we do not license, test, endorse or develop for these controllers.

Not yet, they just did a site update and since it already announced they posted it. We are on track though for September, possibly earlier.

It could work, but I wouldn't consider it ideal, the flow doesn't have much reach so you wouldn't be able to alternate flow direction.

The flow covers about 3-4 ft by 3ft. I would say in general you would be better off with the 6105's.

Re pricing, in general, the prices will hold at MAP at first, this is because supply is always below demand on a new release. Likely many dealers will run sales after supply is sufficient and the exchange rate is so fluid right now that the MAP price could drop or increase. Right now it is a matter of what currency sucks more and that hinges on fed policy and unemployment and what happens with the PIGS and any defaults. You can watch the rates change daily with the news but in general the dollar is weakening at about the same rate as the Euro for the time being.
