New 72 build thread

I am in the process of replacing my old 72 BF with a new tank of the same size, the main differences being that the new one is drilled for an overflow, no scratches and I have foamed the background, as well as being able to implement a sump and new, much larger protein skimmer. I figured I should throw up some pictures of the current progress...

The actual tank swap is planned for this weekend, I have also buillt a custom screen lid to keep fish in since I like an open top system.
Please feel free to comment, I always like suggestions.

I'm in the process of doing the same, only from a 29 to a 75. I'm noticing the foam on the back wall. Have you tested it in the water yet to see if it tries to float off the wall? Also, what would you estimate it cost you to make it? Keep posting the pics.. were doing almost the same thing :)

what kind of tank is this going to be. i have the koralia 4's in my 72 with return pump and i love it. i have about 2800 GPH. i also would put the koralias lower in the tank and on opposite ends, but have one more forward and one more back. have the forward hit the front glass, and the back one hit the back glass. this will make a good circular current, but lots of disruption as well. here is a pic of how my powerheads are set up, and what my 72 looks like. and i just got a RBTA and a new hammer coral today.

The foam peeling off the wall is an issue some people have run into but what I did and others as well is take a sheet of eggcrate, cut it into 3*3 or 4*4 squares then silicone a bunch of them to the back of the tank and let them set up first, that way when you spray on the foam it has a Anchor to grab hold of because the foam is very very boyant. The foam cost me 12.99 a can plus tax and it took 4 1/2 cans to do the back, plus about 5 dollars for the eggcrate and 3.49 for the silicone sealant from homedepot. Use the aquarium stuff not the bathroom stuff.
