New 9010 - No skimmate, no water movement

Hello,
I'm having EXACTLY the same problem as Patow's post from 6/12/07. I've followed all of Roger's suggestions (screw open 3-4 turns, 1/4 turn per day, bevelled side forward, water exit tube with blue sleeve is not all the way in) and I've read as many threads as possible on the problem. I'm a few days into this skimmer, there are no bubbles, water level is below the plastic sleeve, and there has been no improvement for days.
What can I do?
Thanks...

I was incorrect in saying no water or air movement. Let me rephrase.
Water is moving through the skimmer. It is coming up through the intake and flowing out through the J shaped tube with the sleeve. However, there are no bubbles whatsoever. The water level has remained close to the bottom of the plastic skimmate collection cup (inside the main body of the skimmer). So, the pump is definitely working, but there appears to be no air being mixed in.
???

Ah, OK. It sounds like everything is correct except for the venturi/ air system. Pull the pump out and be sure the air line nipple is inserted into the venturi nozzle. It should go in about 1/2 way, push firmly. Make sure when you put the pump back in the airhose doesn't get pinched or bent, there is a hook inside that the airline should rest above.

Roger - Thanks for the tips. I took the pump out, refitted the air tube, and there are now bubbles being created inside the skimmer. However, the bubbles are in the plastic sleeve that fits in the body of the skimmer. The bubbles do not even come close to the bottom of the collection cup. Is this normal? Does it take time for the bubbles to build up?
Also, the bubbles appear to be very small.

Open the screw 3 full turns and wait a few days. What you describe is normal, it takes a while for the foam to build up, especially when the skimmer is new.
