Today about 24 hours later theres a gap. The 2 saddlebacks are hosting. Water params are 1.024, 78degrees i know they like it a little warmer tryiong to raise to 80 slowly, PH 8.1, Alk 8.3, CAL 425,NO3 almost 0, ammonia and nitrite 0. Could the MH on 10 hours be stressin it out? Should i start out with less light? I did turn the flow down to let him settle in. I'm not sure what else could be affecting the nem?

Here are your pictures,

I would raise your salinity up ( slowly ) to 1.026, and cut back the photoperiod, or raise up the lights.

For now, just keep your eye on it. It could just be settling in. But, I got a similar haddoni a couple of weeks ago, the first day or two looked great. Then the mouth wouldn't stay closed and slowly went down hill.

what happened to your haddoni? Still alive or did he melt down?

Either temp will be fine. I keep my 3 other haddonis at 78-82.

Yea, the other one just melted down, took about a week.

Today he looks just ok still open mouth and im almost sure he will be a goner, such a sad process to watch.

Sorry to hear that. But, I wouldn't give up on it just yet, never know what will happen.

I'd get those saddlebacks away from it. They can be brutal to a nem. Are they going in and out of the mouth?

Where did you get it? I order one from Divers Den that looked almost exactly like that, and it died. Never attached and never inflated or sucked in the mouth. Then I found one locally and it has been doing great. Its kinda blue-green instead of that bright flourescent green, but it is so freaking healthy. It fully inflated in the bag on the two hour drive home. It attached immediately and eats anything I give it.

If you bought it local, was its mouth sucked in and tight when you bought it? If so, I'd suggest you start testing all your water parameters.

Also, I have heard and believe that haddoni prefer under 80 degrees and slightly higher than normal salinity. Seems to work for my guy.

I got it local at Carribean Forest it's mouth wasnt in the best condition and i know the owner will make good if something does happen but i'd rather have him live. The temp is 79-80 and salinity 1.025. Today he looks good mnouth still open, i checked and he is planted firmly i couldn't get him if i wanted to.Last night he was huge i tried to see his mouth but the clowns were in the way. Soi guess i'll have to wait and see what happens.
