I just got this guy about 3 days ago. I wanted to find a fish a little diffrent to add to my tank. I was finally able to get a shot of him today.

I've heard those are hard to keep because they are picky eaters.

Good luck with yours, he is a pretty fish.

Sorry, It's a Rainford's Goby.
It's about 1 1/2-2 inces long, and is fully grown. LFS said he shuld be fine in my tank since I have the refugium. I tested my paremeters today and nitrates, nitrites, and amonia are all 0. The only other critters in the tank are 3 Nass. snails and a scarlet hermit, so I don't have much of a bioload.
I actually have hair algae for him to eat from another tank. From what I read that is their food of choice.

DJChesnutRabbit - Any update? Is he a picky eater? I'm looking at getting one of those cuties for my 10g nano as well.... Need something to clean the floor, and heard those do very well. but don't want to get someone who has worse eating habbits then my daughter! =] Thanks!

They can be picky eaters, it just depends.

I had one in my old 55 gallon and he even was getting skinny with a 4 inch DSB. I gave him to a fellow reefer with a 500 and he was fine.

Just make sure he will eat frozen foods before you buy him because a nano has very little live food for him.

Rainfordi. Many fish in this hobby have different names forthe same fish that is why it is important to learn the Latin name to obtain specimens you truly are looking to care for.

I've had 3 of those before never had a problem. i have a 600 gallon that housed two of those for several years and i have one in my 20 gallon now for 3 months. I use a extremely small sand. I have never seen any of them eat any kind of food that i put in there. mine just eat stuff off of the sand.

Update !

I've this guy for a month now. He's nice and healthy and doesn't seem to be too picky. I feed him Arcti Pods food and he'll eat the pods out of the water. He also does a great job of keeping the sand nice and clean.
Supprisingly, he's not as shy as I read they are. I see him regularly out and about sifting sand. Of course his the king of his 2 1/2 gallon castle,. His only other tankmates are a pepermint shrimp and a turbo snail.
