Today i added my new Sailfin tang and a Copperband butterfly.

There was defin confrontation. The PBT would approach my SFT and turn and flutter his rear fin against the SFT. As well as chase my CBB. I have since moved my PBT a QT and changed the entire rock layout of my display.

When i added the SFT and CBB i had the lights off and have left them off.

If this does not work out. Arrrrr I will be puting my PBT up for sale. Due to the excellent condition and coloration I am open to offers. I have a general idea of what i would like. He's 6" in size.

Or I will just trade him for several fish and hopefully come out fairly.

I will add him back to the display in another hr. or 2

Or willing to trade for a smaller one in perfect condition/ no marks.

most would say a 125gallon tank is good for a power brown tank but for a sailfin tang also it may be a bit cramped. territory behavior expected. this site list MINIMUM tank size for sailfin tangs at 125 so you may be balancing on the line. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=379

PBT - powder blue tang. Sorry i forgot about the browns.

Sailfin is 3" in size. So not a prob for sometime.

Will be doing a 120 gal here pretty soon. Will only be 4ft tho. I really don't want to part with the PBT. I'll see if i can get them to adj. peacefully. If not i want to replace with a smaller one.

ahhhhh....so they are not in a 125 yet. only in the 75gallon. ohh no watch out for the tang police! LOL...just playin. honestly you should consider upgrading asap if you want both tangs to be happy and free of HILE desease.

Happy to report both are eating Mysis and Brine shrimp. CBB is also nipping at the rock work. I returned the PBT to the display. Lights will remain off. Have been observing, So far so good. See how it goes.

A sailfin and a powder blue is a lot for a 120, but it could work. Don't give up on the powder blue yet - taking it out just might do the trick of making forget it's territory - as long as you keep it out of the tank for long enough. Be patient!

Having the sailfin in there will probably help out your copperband because the powder blue is more likely to go after the sailfin which will give the copperband a little more peace.
