Well I have a pair of b&w occs and am getting a gorgeous pair of Black Onyx percs..and will be breeding both pairs...and potentially a pair of picassos...but put me down for a pair if you can grow out the fry!

And I think for what you paid...you should be able to recop your money relatively quickly as they're not a common fish...at least around here anyways...

True...I've done quite well with rose bubble tip anemones...I got a pack of 10 a while back and have sold enough to recop all my investment...and I still have 8 after splits (natural and human inflicted). They get buried so deep in the rock that when I break the rock, they "rip" in half and after 2-3 weeks, I have 2 new nems...now wash, rinse and repeat...and you'll have a TON of RBTAs like I do..not to mention the little pieces of their foot that tears and yields a new nem...
So needless to say, I won't have any problems with "hosts" for any clowns I have...which are the only fish I have...

Yes....better to rip and distribute captive breed then take from the wild...one major reason why I wanna breed clowns!

Doesn't mean you don't breed them; and someone will buy them...people always want/need cheaper fish...even if you sold them for $5 to $10 a piece..

Trust vapor, no one will want captive raised GBR, i tried, i had a breeding pair. They dont sell that well and no one besides real clown loves can distinguish them apart.
its just like the RBTAS you sell, around here in NJ the most you can get is 50 bucks for a clone.

I can say that they aren't hot sellers because people can hardly find them. Not many people pay this type the time and respect they deserve.

Unless your breeding the latest 'designer' clown, you'll be lucky to sell ANY fish for more than $1-8 a piece. I unloaded a couple hundred juvie tomatos before I moved for $140 which included shipping. You don't breed for $$$ unless you push the latest fad. Every LFS will tell you that they would prefer straight nemos' over any other fish b/c that moves the fastest. The clown nuts (such as myself) are only a slim margin of the market willing to invest $50-500+ per fish. I've seen the price list for ORA and their platinum clown cost to dealers is absurd! I WILL NOT divulge this info, but you would be very surprised what most LFS' pay for common clowns. Add that to a markup they must recoup for housing the specimen until it's sold and enough profit to keep their doors open. That results in almost zero margin of profit for a home breeder that plans to breed only 1-2 species of clown.
But....if you get some good broodstock out of the Akindyno pair I would love another addition to my collection!
