Hello Ihave beenin the hobby alottle over 4 months
I am looking into some zoanthids But I am starting to worry as i hear how toxic they are and after the guys dog died I am really worried.

First off is my rank to new?
Second how hard tomaintain meaning food and flow wise?

and if all above is good what nice colorful ones can I start with?

Oh the flame Angel is out replaced with yellow tang
Thank you

You said that you are 4 months into the hobby but how long has you tank been running? New tanks tend to be unstable. Most zoas are relatively easy to take care.

More is made of the toxicity issue than needs to be. That being said, use common sense and don't smoke, lick or eat the Zoas or feed them to your pets and you won't have a problem. If you are worried, wear gloves when handling them.

All they really need to grow is strong light and decent water quality. There are endless varieties available. Check your local stores to see what they have first before spending money on 2 polyp frags of rare varieties.

I am still waiting to try to get these trates under control before anything thought I would get some opinions on what to look for

When it comes to polyps. Its up to the eye of the beholder. I'll send you links to online stores etc. that carry zoas and you can browse through them to get ideas of what catches your eye and would like for your self.
