1 week ago i bought a sabae he is white with purple tips..

my clown just started hosting him last night. for a little while i wasnt sure if he would get the hang of it..

new hobby for me but i just love it!:mixed:

ok, since no one else will lend a hand. that anemone is bleached. feed it and give strong light until it browns up. hopefully the pic is bad, but the clown looks like he might be hurt near his head.

I have to agree with matt on the feeding. it doesn't need alot but something. no need to give it an entire fish a day or anything. it should enjoy some mysis. maybe silver sides but they are nasty so I don't use them. you could always feed your tank heavy like I do but you may get unwanted algea.

the picture isnt the greatest.. there isnt anything on the clownfish, its just the picture.

i tried feeding the sabae krill he ate it the first day but hasnt touched it since.

i got him from pet mart on 56th and busch

well when stressed they normally won't except food. not saying anything about your tank at all but just make sure you have good water quality. do not get water from petmart. it has always been nasty in the past so I can only assume nothing has changed. water windmill or your own ro di. moving several times in a few weeks is stressful. you can try mysis if you have any but from my experience they don't need to eat everyday. if the krill is an inch long or so I would only try to feed it everey 3 days at most but more than likely closer to 5. that is just my experience of course and others will be different. you don't to mess with it alot but have you touched it at all since it's been in your tank? it should sting you if you touch it or feel sticky by just brushing it with your finger. if it is in the open and not balled shut all day I wouldn't worry yet. small water changes every few days to keep things more fresh isn't a bad idea.

ohh im not worried at all this post is about how happy i am with it...lol....its doing great, and open all the time.

That's awesome! I have a tomato clown that took about 2 days to discover his condy anemone (finding out later they aren't supposed to host those...good thing I didn't educate myself first :D ). He loved it so much he killed it, lol, by rubbing himself all in it (big clown). So then we bought him 3 more, and he shared his attention with all of them. It's so cool to see them hosting like that, especially the first time.

Congrats!

thanks lady.. i hope mine doesnt hurt him lol he rubs all over that thing.lol like hes trying to bury himself haha

I was about to say, I thought it looked fine! I don't feed anemones much, but rather rely on photosynthesis and residual from feeding my fish IMHO. Usually, giving an anemone less light for the quarantine period is a lot better advice than trying to slam them w/ it. If anything, tuck it away somewhere in low light and let it decide. If water quality is good, and the anemone was purchased in good health, all should be well.

thanks....he has been doing very well.. but last night he decided to change spots to the other side of the rock he was at in the picture. so he is in a small cave in the rock but the little i can see of him... he is fully open in there..

i wonder why he went in there. hope he will be back out.

he's moving if he's not happy (they say). Don't feed him and maybe he'll come back out. Is the clown with him?

no the clown isnt.. where he has put him self is under the other side of a cave in the rock, you can hardly see him at all. and i got another clown fish to join him too .. so sad

Ok....heres mine. It use to be white like the one above now it looks like this. I thought it was suppose to be white.

Is this good then? Its hard to see, but the tips are nice an purple.

All is well jtemple, I'd like to not see quite as much mouth as your anemone shows, but it looks really healthy to me. Nice pic!

Thank You...my wife has really been bothering me about it. I'll let her know all is well.
The mouth comes and goes. Somedays I don't see it at all somedays it looks like its turning itself inside out. What causes this?
