New Aquarium coming to the lou

This looks wonderful. Seems like it's going to be professionally run. Can't wait for it to open. I had been hoping this would come along before the owner of the World Aquarium secured funding to build something similar.

While this is very exciting I know LHM ( the development company behind this) very well. They are notorious for cutting cost wherever possible. I have set in a meeting where they actually decided to cheat a client out of what they paid for to save cost. They literally cut a beef tenderloin in half because they did not want to order the correct amount of beef tenderloin for the function 950 people would attend. I really hope they do this right and let someone else manage the aquarium for the sake of the animals otherwise that shark tank will have one MP40 on it.

Hopefully if they plan to have AZA accreditation, as the article says, they'll have to have good care standards.

Im excited about it. Both for having an aquarium in St. Louis and for having a huge revitalization project like this for Union Station.

My daughter is going to school in Texas for Marine Biology, maybe she can get a job there when she graduates! lolz

I'm very excited about it and think it will be good for the city if it is done right and not another "World Aquarium."

Picture Gallery of the proposed aquarium, albeit not very detailed. I personally cant wait. Hoping they have something similar to other aquariums where they have volunteers dive and help clean exhibits. Id be down to a couple days of diving a week.

LOL they have a pic of a Great White in this aquarium as well as a whale shark... I guess whatever gets people excited.

I am excited for this. Has anyone been to the new exhibit in Springfield?

I went to Springfield this fall. It's pretty cool. The wildlife exhibit was like a taxidermy zoo. But the aquarium was neat. The coolest thing that I had never seen was the 100's of schooling fish in a cylinder shape and then a shark passes by and they break up and come back together. Kinda like the screen saver on the Nemo DVD.
