New Base Rock, Need Advice

I have a 20L that has 20lbs LS and 10-12lbs fully cured LR. I was lucky enough to get this LR fully cured because I work at a LFS so it came right out of our display tanks. After 2 weeks my water has been fine and I only experienced a minor cycle if even that. I have added a small green chromis which I will take back to the store once he gets a little bigger, and I also added a juvy Cinnamon Clown which I plan to keep. I am slowly acquiring base rock so I can eventually get my tank to around 30-40lbs.

1. When I get the base rock it is completely dry. What do I need to do to clean this rock so it will be safe to add to the aquarium? Please keep in mind that I do plan to add inverts so I am sure even the smallest amount of bleach is out of the question.

2. Can I add this rock directly to my tank once it has been clean, or am I still going to have to cook it?

I would assume that once it is cleaned it is no different the the side of my powerhead, but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance.

If you know the source of this rock then direct application should be fine. But a bath in ro/di water with salt wouldnt hurt just to release any debris that my cloud tank.If source unknown then a day in the sun then a bath would be better.

If you needed to, you could bleach it. You would just have to soak it in water for a few days and then let it dry out completely. Then I would put in in SW for a few days, then in to the tank. If it looks pretty clean, just soak it in SW for a few days and then you can safely add it to your tank.
