I ravaged a buddies Tank who is downsizing and bought alot of frags, but decided this ones my favorite! It has a lavender body with teal polyps, with hint of green and purple. Anyone see one like this before or have a colony pic?

+1 I agree. Looks like a tri Seriatopora to me, or a blue one. The branches are too think to be a pocci.

Dontusually do the "+" thing....

but since we are voting :D

+3 poci no doubt IMO

birdsnest don't usually have rounded edges..+1 pocci..

guttatus does...have a couple and the edges are very rounded. Wasnt familiar with caliendrum until I just looked it up and it has rounded edges as well. pg 218 of bornemans book. Looks nothing like the apparent poci above, but the pic just did very much make me question this yellow coral I have I have been calling a stylo for years. lol It appears to be a caliendrum now that I see one

coral-world is just a store that has it misidentified ;)

I would have to side with bornemans book over any retail site in concern to identification

pg 218

too bad the AIMS site is no longer up. :( It was great for all of us rookies to try and distinguish the different stonies from each other.

Yeah you guys know better than I. That site was pretty much my only piece of evidence supporting my claim. I still think its a rockin piece though ;-)

I agree :)

I have several really neat stylos, but the only pocis I have had have been green....or a light pink color and every one of them has spawned. I hate them. lol

If they were prettier colored ones that spawned on me I would probably feel a little differently, but its no fun picking poci off of everything in your tank :)

To me it looks like a green pocci that hasn't recovered all of its color. this is what pieces from the bottom or side where they get less light of a green pocci usually look like until they fully color back up. just my .02
