Just recieved my BK300 Deluxe yesterday. What a monster. I've changed skimmers thru the years and think this will be the last. I've had the Lifereef VS2-24" with Mazzie, Lifereef VS3-30", ASM G4XX, Custom NW with 2x sedra 9000, Octopus extreme 250 with 2x sicce and now the BK300D.
Here are the SCFH readings I've recorded:
Lifereef VS3-30"w/mazzie: 30 SCFH
Custom NW w/2x sedra: 18 SCFH/pump (36 SCFH)
Extreme250 w/2x sicce: 22 SCFH with stock NW / pump (42 SCFH)
BK300D w/Red Dragon2000: 55 SCFH
All readings were taken using same dywer meter under skimmer's recommended water level.
Air draw is only one factor used to judge skimmer capability but skimmer design, which affects bubble turbulance, is key in determining an overall good skimmer.
