Just picked up a new piece of Blue Green Cyphastrea and was wondering what this variety might be called.

Reguardless of my next comment that is simply a gorgeous specimen there.
As far as the morph it is most likely " EXTRA SUPER ULTRA GRADE A RADIATED RUSSIAN SATTELITE CRASH SITE SHOW PIECE CYPHASTEREA!!! "

Thanks guys!

Not a bad name but I would never remember it!

Did a little more research and it could be a variety of Cyphastrea japonica or Minefield Cyphastrea,
Cyphastrea microphthalma.
Just got today, hopefully it will open up more tomorrow.

Lol, couldn't help it. On a more serious note looks like a nice piece of mine field. In local shops I help with I've seen some around lately, varying from a stark white/green to a more blueish white and green. Unique color combo!

Thanks guys!
After a couple of weeks in the tank I finally mounted to a piece of LR . It is just starting to encrust on to the rock.

That's a nice one. Once good thing about Cyphastreas is once they settle in they grow like mad. I bought a small frag of Meteor Shower a few years ago and it's growing all over my tank now. Seems like any rock they touch for more than a couple weeks turns into a new colony.

How about Spearmint meteor? LOL
That is one fine looking Cyphastrea there. I hope I someday can find one like that!

Sincerely,
Matthew

i have sevral morphs of cyphastrea in my tank. i have one of this color and it took a few weeks to get happy in the tank but definately gets polypy. i also have some that wont polyp, they just grow..... it will happen

Thanks again everyone. I still have not seen great polyp extension like its cousin, maybe they just don't get as large.
