The base did look bleached in the first photo and considering the new growth image, i guess that's enough proof. It's green polyp with brown base, pretty common, but still very nice!

I am pretty sure the brown base has just not colored up yet especially after seeing the mother colony. I will be moving this colony a little higher in the tank because think it will color up better.
The new growth on my other variety starts off the same way ,dark brown.

Update ! Spreading slowly it definitely encrust slower then my other variety.

is that normal color or is that cyno groing on it?

The reddish brown is all new growth before it starts coloring up like the older growth.

Awesome cyphastrea. I am jalous. My frag i just got is color shifting quickly in the shade. I think yours is great!!
