New Blue Haddoni

imo
I believe that the carpet should be ready, especially if the clowns only host at night. The carpet is alot bigger than that bta and looks to be big enough to support hosting two clown fish.
Fwiw,

Your carpet can handle your tomatos but I don't think they will take to the carpet. They might but odds are they won't.

I have a lovely blue carpet that looks a lot like yours color-wise, but does not have such deep folds. It was a sorry little mess until I put my clarkii clown in the tank with it. Now it is happy :)

I would not worry about having the clowns with the carpet (if they even go near it). The worst thing that can happen is you will have to uncover the BTA again.

Soooooo, I should get a 4th clown for my tank? :D And perhaps another rose? :D

PS, could someone put some laymans names to these clowns.

Stichodactyla haddoni (haddon's, saddleback, carpet, or sand carpet)
A. akindynos
A. chrysogaster
A. chrysopterus
A. clarkii
A. polymnus
A. sebae

I moved my rose to the back of the tank and the tomatoes did not follow. I also added a domino damsel and a clarkii. The clarkii hosted sometime last night. It would have looked cool if the domino hosted as well.

I went from tomatos to Clarkiis. Now you want to talk about a clown that hosts everything, even if its a condy.;)
To go further into detail on this. I was just over at 55semi's house the other day and boy talk about clowns hosting corals. I kid you not, the clarki's that 55semi has are amazing, all you have to do is drop a piece of shrimp in the tank and next thing you know the clowns are all over it and taking it back to their host, its truly amazing. 55semi has a pair and one stays in a seabae and the other in a bluecarpet but they go back and forth from one to the other and also go into hammers, xenia and pretty much all of the corals he has in his tank, it is truely awesome to watch them do this, but the best part is when they take their food to the host, i have never seen anything like that before. So clarki's in my book are the best clowns for trying to host.

Wish the domino would have joined the party.

Your Clarkii will love your Haddoni. Here is mine:

This is what it looked like at first. Actually I bought it off someone that had it in a nano cube and it outgrew that so I bought it for my 55. But this is what it looked like when that person first bought it. Kinda cool to see how much its grown. You bought yours at a much bigger diameter than what mine came in.

They are indeed, and its so cool to watch the clowns go and give food to their anemone. To me that is the best part about reefing.

Well Bluecarpet was the one that bought this blue Haddoni originally for his nano cube. He didn't really know how big these anemones could get at the time so after about 3 months it outgrew his nano. I made a trade with him for the Blue Haddoni. Here is some pictures of the first day my carpet was in my tank.

Bluecarpet bought the Haddoni in late May of 2006 and it was about 4-5 inches in diameter. When I bought the Haddoni off bluecarpet, it was about 8-9 inches in diameter. Now when fully spread out, its about 12 inches in diameter. So in about 7 months time, my haddoni has grown about 7-8 inches.

Update, all's lookin' good. Nem is starting to look pretty good. Kind of like he is puffing up a little. Clarkii sticks close as the tomatoes have noticed him. He seams pretty safe in that nem though. Here's a pic using my new camera.

Looking good. Still a bit deflated though.

Please elaborate. I've noticed it has been puffing up or swelling up lately. Will it continue to do so? Till it looks like what?
