New BTAs!

it's opened up nicely though! and looks sticky.

IMO, yours look like a variation of the sunburst, but bleached.. if that is the case, your own photo's colors aren't that off. I think it will darken up to be more orange.. the green base will show. the yellow will depend on how honest Ben is with these photos.. lol

both these BTAs are pretty bleached.. mine's got white already

People are telling me this is how it's gonna look. If that's the case, I will not be happy. I'm a reasonable guy, so I'll contact him in private and consult, but there's no way I'm paying $225 for THAT.

How's the lemon drop bta doing? I've been thinking about getting one from coral collection but if they're not doing that great I may have to reconsider.

I did not get my lemon drop from CC. in my experience, all the nems I get from other people's tank respond well. The Lemon Drop I got from that RtwoR website. arrived perfectly out of bag, dropped it in the tank and started expanding. Grew from 1 inch to 5 inches within a year.

all my high end nems from coral collection had issues. I don't like to bash business online but I have not had a pleasant experience with them yet.

I wouldn't worry too much about the light being too bright. Give them time to adjust.

I have green bulbs and rose bulbs in my outdoor rock sump. They get direct sunlight and they keep splitting and have climbed their way to the top of the sump.

I also am housing King Georges Blue and Red Carpet anemones, and they also planted themselves at the top of the tank and are loving all the sunlight.

Hey Dave do you have pictures of your outdoor tank with all the anemones? I'd love to see. Sorry to hijack guys

Seems like that's the norm now a days. With everyone Photoshopping, I've rarely seen a high end coral look just as nice in person as it did in the pic.

I agree.. It's difficult to find online retailers where the pictures actually look like what you receive. Most of the pictures are either taken under pure actinic lighting or they are post-processed to make colors pop.

I agree but not always true. I started a thread for this very reason to give kudos to WWC on the other large forum by sharing how much the corals now looks as they're growing out and the posted WWC pics when I bought them. There pics were quite accurate representation and I wanted people to know and see that. Some do, some don't. I've bought from the same vendor as I think Confuse did (if he bought from the same guy as monkie) and my dealings with him have been honest and spot on. I've bought multiple times and always very happy.

We did buy from the same vendor. I agree, he was easy to deal with. But I was surprised at his reaction, which was very nonchalant. Like he's been through this before or he expected it. He swears it looked like the picture, but the picture does look somewhat doctored. I've owned high end anemones before and even after a few days, I could see it's true colors. This anemone arrived in good shape and extended out fully in less than a few hours. I'm disappointed I didn't get what I was told I would get, but at least I got some of my money back. He offered me a full refund if I shipped it back and I don't have neither the time or skill to ship live animals so I cut my losses and asked for some of my money back. At least my clown is totally loving it. That's about the only positive I could think of. I could of invested that money into an inferno that was being sold locally, but oh well, sheet happens. I'll chalk up this one as a loss and move on. I don't think I'll be making another online purchase of an anemone unless the seller is highly reputable and is well known for not doctoring their photos to their advantage. I have much respect for WWC from the feedback I've received by them and I hope they can serve as an example.

I just believe r2r is like a cult. This kind of doctoring is allowed and not looked down upon by mods and is accepted by members because the coral looks good enough in person when they receive it, but not exactly as in the picture. Oh well, they're a business and gotta protect their investment (sponsors). Such is life. I'm ready to make the drive and buy my anemones from locals now! Lesson learned. =]
