New Build - 560g

I think about the only way you could really do a wiring job that can be shown-off in style , is if you can make all of the wire/cords custom length so you dont have any excess to bundle up or you have plenty enough wire to get to where you want to go - how you want to get there (but again not too much). Youd be trying to do something similar to what the old car audio competitors would attempt on their show cars, maybe there's some google images out there that could inspire you a little, I dont know. Working with all the varying lengths that come standard to the equipment thats tough to do. Customizing the cord and wire lengths would be an excuse for a manufacture to void any warranties too I imagine.

Hiding the wiring like youre doing is probably your best bet. Maybe you can get some kind of wire management materials (covers essentially) for some of the wire thats exposed or simply do your best to run everything at right angles.

Can I suggest cable management like what is used on server racks and relay racks in a network environment? Here are some nice horizontals that are 3.5" wide by 19" in length. http://www.cablestogo.com/product/03746/2u-3.5in-horizontal-cable-management-panel. I beleive Fry's electronics stocks something similar. Front covers come off everything gets stuffed inside. wires come through the fingered slots on the sides. cover goes back on and everything looks tidy.

Thank you for the idea. I work with servers everyday and didn't think of this.

I already moved the tank and filled it with water or I'd probably look more into this!

The tank now has sand, rock, and water in it!

The cycle started on Saturday. Below are a few pictures of the tank today. The refugium light isn't up yet and the skimmer won't stop overflowing, so those aren't on yet. The tupperware with holes in it in the sump contains my rotting shrimp. Please let me know what you think of the aquascape; I spent many hours inside the tank designing it.

I love the wide-open feel of the scape, with the nice swim-throughs!

I am interested to follow your success with the blocks, I like lesser-rock scapes, but have always tried to live by the pound of rock per gallon just for the bioload purposes.

Can't wait to see this one take off!

Thanks, John!

I've heard of aluminum leeching out of the MarinePure, but also heard its really only during its cycle period, so we'll see! I have 5 of the 8x8x4 blocks and 3 gallons of the spheres.
