well i ordered the phoenix 14k bulb today and im waiting on my Korilia 1 powerhead for the tank. I think my sps will love it since i know i need more flow for them to be happy.

Im assuming i need to acclimate the corals to the new bulb when it arrives. What do you guys think is the best way to do this??? cut down on photo period for a while?

You can also throw a piece of egg crate over the top. If you have one there already you can put another on on top of it.

The way i do it is to drop the photoperiod down a little bit, watch the corals if for some reason they bleach a little then shade it. If you are staying with teh same wattage i don't think you'll have any problems. I recently pulled the 14k phoenix and put a 10K on my 10, I kept the same 7 hour photoperiod and nobody got upset.

I just replaced all my bulbs, 3 175W MH 15,000K Hamiltons and four 165W VHO's with bulbs that were in there for 18 months. Everything is as happy as can be, no sign of stress in anything.

ill just cut it down a couple of hours a day and see how things are going. I also need to find some stuff that can stick corals to the rocks cause im having the hardest time getting two of my acros to stay.

well i did a little work on the tank today and got things pretty much back to where they were before i left. I had to reglue some corals and do some tests and what not. I was happy to see that i have NO2, NO3, and AMMONIA. My alk and calcium were a little off but hey im happy. I need to get some more astrea snails and some nassarius to help keep my substrate clean. Other than that im waiting for my new bulb, and my hydor koralia and thats about it. I am hoping the bulb will add even more color to my corals!

After all that im trying to decide what to do about these worms. Im really wanting to go the leopard wrasse or a yellow wrasse as i have heard great things about them. When i get either one i want it to be small enough so i can have it for a little bit. Also so that its not too stressed out and ends up not eating anything because of the small space.

So thats my little update and hopefully things go good from here.
