I'm thinking about changing out the 250w 10k Ushio bulbs on my tank with some 250w 13k PFO since I want my tank to be alittle bluer. What I am wondering is if I need to acclimate my clams to the 13K bulbs? TIA
Nope, shouldn't be an issue. Although your selection of inverts; unless deep water specimens, are probably better served by the 10000k bulbs. These bulbs produce more than enough light in the blue spectrum for the animals needs. If you want the blue for asthetics you could add NO actinic flourescents. This would also allow you to simulate (sorta) a morning/evening effect if you wished.
I am running 2 160w Icecap vho super actinics. Although they add more blue to the tank, I want even a bit more. I don't want to add any more actinics suppliments so I'm thinking the bulbs switchout will do it.
