I changes out my bulbs all at once ... And seem to be getting pale lookin sps and a few bleaching stn etc.. I switched from radium 400 20k to ushio 400 20k light run for 6.5 hours a day and I have some t5 that run 11 hours that basically just blue my question is what's the min I can go 5 hours be ok?

I also have been carbon dosing for the past 5 weeks vinegar but my no3 is still 10 ish and po4 0.03 so I don't think the corals are starving or anything alk at 8 cal 430 mag 1500 (I know high )I also have egg crate 1 layer I can put over the tank to shade a little?im
Going to pismo beach tomorrow for 3 days. I hate leaving my tank I always am a little nervous

One note I've observed is the only corals not affected are my stags which can handle more lighting I think? Everything else seems stressed

I would do something to reduce intensity for a while, be it raising the lamps or using some screen or eggcrate to block some of it. The whole process is rate-limited, not time-limited. In other words, reducing photoperiod would reduce damage being done, but damage is still occurring--just for less time. If you reduce initial intensity while acclimating, you can actually prevent damage from occurring in the first place.

What's the average photoperiod for hilides when there not new

I have no idea what the average is these days :). I hear 6-8 hours being tossed around quite a bit, with outliers on either side. Mine are on for about 8 hours, with 6 hours of both being on (i.e. maximum intensity) within that time frame. Again, though I do not really change that photoperiod, at least not purposefully.
