New Bulbs

Got 3 new Hamilton 10k mh lamps yesterday installed in the display, replaced the chinaman ebay bulbs. They were a combo of 20k/10k/15k I have to say I liked that color but the intensity or brightness was lacking.

Now I have the brightness but the color is a crisp white. The bulbs have not burned in yet so color will shift some.

I had the Hamilton 10k's before just not used to the white.

I looked and read everything I could before buying our last replacements and the Hamilton's have a very good reputation, hopefully your corals will respond well.

I just got 2 new hamilton 14k and like the color very well. They look real dim next to the cheapo 10K's I have though. There is a huge color differance also. Very yellow looking, not white, to very blue. My icecap electric ballast fire the hamiltons within a second or two and the same ballast takes at least 2-4 mins at best to fire the cheap bulbs and many times don't even fire them at all. I have learned from experiance that I am sticking with a good bulb from now on.
