New bulbs

I finally made the swap to phoenix 250w 14k MH. Tank looks so much better; I don’t know what took me so long.

Is anyone else using these bulbs. I am think about replacing two of my four pc antics with the 50/50 white and blue blubs. I think I have too much blue.

bump - I'm thinking about increasing my MH spectrum and wondering if anyone uses 50/50 for their supplementation...

I run 2 x T-5 UVL Super Actinics with my Phoenix but I am running it on a magnetic ballast. When I first got the bulb, it was very blue to me as well but after break in, it has turned a lot more white.

If you are using an electronic ballasts, you might not get such a shift in color.

I would wait a few weeks for the Phoenix to break in before you decide on the supplemental lighting. Its all about what you like, its hard getting opinions on what color people like. You ask 10 people you will get 10 different answers.

I just use 3- 250W Phoenix 14k's and love em, no supplements
