How do you keep all your rocks so algae free? I starve my tank and can't do that.

Are you employing a powerful skimmer?

Are you performing regular water changes?

Many factors can play into the algae equation. If the tank is young you will most likely battle algae for the better part of the first year. Thankfully in this current tank I have never had an algae problem. My skimmer keeps my water nice and clean. I add no additives other than what is in the Seachem Reef Salt mix and Lugols Solution. I do not feed any of my corals, they eat what my fish eat and excrete(poop;) ).

No, its just Clkwrk's tank. :D :D :D

I have a Myreefcreation MR-1 skimmer but I rarely use it because I rarely pull much out. If I do pull stuff out it stops about 2 hours later. I figure I have clean water or the skimmer does not work properly. I never did do water changes for awhile. I just started doing a monthly 40%. I also feed the tank to the point of starving my fish but I also just started feeding what they can eat at one sitting every day instead. They are happier but I am not sure if that will help my algae cause.

No matter how clean our water may appear, there is always something to pull out. As clean as my water is I have to empty my skimmer cup every two days. I would suggest you look into purchasing a new skimmer, maybe a Deltec, H&S or Euro-reef.

that tank is flipping beautiful!! very nice shots BTW. wish i would have stepped up and got that camera instead my S2IS...but i didn't want to shell out a lot either i guess

keep the pics coming

SunnyX You have a beautiful fish tank. Having something like that to take pics of makes the camera worth every penny.

Are you still running the actinic bulbs with the 20k in those pictures. Do you find it too blue with both?

Yes in the pics I am running 2x140W Super Actinic along with 1x140W Actinic White

You will need at least one white VHO bulb to balance the color correctly.
