New camera, new pictures

Well I bought a new camera... I'm still experimenting (just got it a couple hours ago) so it will be a while until I get "GREAT" pictures but I like these ones :)

Excuse the dirty water, this is right in the middle of a water change.

Canon 50D paired with a Canon 24-70 f2.8 L.

The sweet thing is I didnt use the flash in any of those shots. My old point and shoot I'd have to use the flash, which typically makes the fish not look "real life" colors. My Niger would be washed out, the clown too bright, just in general not looking like the real fish. I love this camera for flashless photography.

It's funny how much my triggers like algae, I thought the clown would never be a vegetable eater but it turns out he likes it, a LOT.

I put a whole piece of Nori in there, which is basically 4" by 8" and it's gone in about 30 seconds, all the triggers just rip it apart. I wasnt even able to get my camera out quick enough to get some shots of it, so the best I have is the clown guarding what is left.

Nice shots! Looks like it really takes nice pictures, and I hear ya on the flash thing....I like the non-flash pics best. Fish look great as well!

Nice pics, lets see that Golden Puffer!
My golden puffer looks horrible actually, he really didnt handle the quinine sulfate treatment well. He is pretty much dark all across his back and his golden color across his stomach is just a dull yellow.

I've been purposefully not getting pictures of him, it's discouraging, I'll snap one though here in a while.

Wow, I can see why you're pleased with you new camera. The pictures show a lot of detail and have a reasonable depth of field.

I finally got a somewhat good picture of my Sohal... it's a really hard fish to ever get a shot of.

I still like the Niger's red teeth, I'll never get tired of that fish, heh.

Beautiful pics! I really, really, really hope he behaves for you. Mine became such a pain. I think I talked about it here a while back but even in a 600G tank, my brothers started bullying the puffers and had to go.

What a great camera!

Recty, that sohal has really colored up for you. Has it shown any signs of aggression yet? I'm going to try feeding my undy some seaweed since your triggers like it so much. Always looking to expand his diet....

The sohal is a jerk, more than any other fish in there... and he is the 2nd smallest fish. He bites the pinktail and keeps him in the corner and he has recently starting picking on my puffer too... I'm probably going to have to get rid of him.

He is growing very fast too... he was the same size as the pinktail like a month ago, now he is almost an inch longer. I mean like crazy fast growth, fastest growing saltwater fish I've seen yet.

The only fish which bothers my goldheart is the sohal... these are sohal bites on the tail. The other triggers leave him totally alone and he leaves them alone, but the sohal doesnt.

Btw, anyone have any idea what these spots on the face of my Niger could be? They dont move around and they havent gotten any bigger or smaller. He didnt have them when I put him in either, they look like scratches to me but it's hard to tell as he wont slow down :)

They sort of look like scratches and bite marks. How long has he had them? Are they getting better with time?

Those marks are the sohal. Look just forward of his tail in the orangeish brownish spot that is one of his spikes. All tangs have them they lash their tail around at predators (and apparently prey).

I saw these two yellow tangs go at it with each other when I went to this restaurant with a bunch of tanks (Rainforest Cafe if you know it). And that's when my friend told me about that spike and that all tangs have them.
