Well I picked up my (not so) new chiller from Mike today and it needed alot of work, so I set out on my quest today to get that thing up and running.

Here are some pics as I'm testing it in a 5G bucket to see what she can do.

I had to do some rewiring to get it to fire up correctly, and have the fan come on like it's suposed to but hey, it's now up and running!

It's pulled the temp on a 5g bucket of water from 73 down to 55 in 1 HOUR!! in ambient room temp of 75

Because it's missing the cover we have no idea who made it, what it's rated for, how many GPH it's good for, what size tank it rated for, etc.. and we can't find anything online about it because we don't know who makes it!

It's a mystery chiller
:)

I still need to make a cowling cover, or someting, and add some kind of air filter to it, to keep the coils from getting dirty.

I finally got my tank controller to register temp correctly so I'm just planing on re-doing some of the software so it can control the chiller.

Yep it worked.. (sort of)
After 2 hours the fan on the front started to make a grinding noise, (prolly why it was disconnected)

I gota see if I can find a replacement 120VAC fan over at HSC.

hehehe, uhhh yeah, guilty as charged.
I hadn't put it back up since we moved, so beings it was a project day, one of the projects was to get that baby back up and working..
heheh
