I am also adding marble cat sharks to my list as I have a male now and am looking for a couple of females for him as I keep 2 females for every 1 male shark.
 
They would probably outgrow it in a matter of months. I'm not going to keep this girl in the 75g over 8 months, even if the pond isn't finished. It was actually an irresponsible buy for me, IMO. I promised myself that I would wait for a bigger tank/pond before purchasing any elasmobranch. I still will do everything I can to provide the proper needs for this shark.
 
Not finished. Actually haven't started on it yet, due to a major setback caused by my parents' arguing on whether or not they want to do this.

As for how long it will take for a brown banded to out grow a75 gallon tank?

I would say less than a year, likely only about 6-8 months.
 
How about buying a poly pond? All you'd have to do is add a sand bottom and some rock and water. No need for a liner or trouble building a frame.
 
im making mine outa a cattle trough ^^. 200 bucks for a 400 gallon rubbermaid round trough. honestly, best way to go about it. almost got enough for the ASM g-5 for it :D
 
Mike, you're probably right, that would be the cheapest/easiest way to go for me.

P.S. Would a Galvanized Steel pond/pool be bad for am elasmobranch?
 
not galvanised, ya I'm considering a 300g poly pool(water trough).

Their is an outake on one I saw(less than 300g though) and if not then you could hook up a pump to it I'm sure.
 
just go to a local feed store, they usually have tons in stock, different sizes and color. Basically, any place that sells horse supplies.

give me a private message, and ill show the plumbing drawings I have planned for my poly pond.
 
I'll see what "Ponds Etc." says when they call me back. They're in Martinsville, about 30 miles away, which isn't that bad when you take the Bypass. ;)
 
I'm lucky. I got a major farm/ranch supply store right next to the neighborhood my mom is in. I think I'm going to go and see what sizes they got.
