New clams again...

just came back from the LFS with 2 new 4" Ultra Maxima clams to add to the 2 I already have. I'm acclimating them at the moment. Just thought I'd let you all know. Expect some pics soon. The pair is by far the best looking clams I have currently. :D
 
 
TY. As you can tell, I am a proud, new clam(s) daddy. :D

I do have a question. Why are the two new clams wider than they are tall? My small 3" maxima is proportional compared to the two new ones. Why is this? Nothing wrong with it expect it looks strange that's all.

Not really. You just have to maintain your CA and ALK levels. Besides that, depends on how much room you have for them. :D

Just dont think about how much you spent on them. I did that yesterday and I almost kicked myself for "wasting" so much money.
 
I must say once I got my first clam, I got addicted instantly. I wanna get a few more down the road but don't think I have any room for them.

I sure hope all my clams do good. Money sometimes isn't everything. ;)
 
Money and clams do not go together in the same sentence lol. I put in central air to be able to run MH to get clams lol.

And that was just because I saw a picture of a clam.

LOL, I know! I have 8 clams in my 58g. I want avbout 8 more, but will probably only add maybe 4 more.

Good question, I dunno for sure. I bought the clam at the LFS and they labeled it a maxima so I just call it a maxima. Can someone confirm this? LOL

BTW, if this is a maxima, it sure doesn't look like the 2 newest ones I have.

Pfittttz - It's somewhat funny to see what we will do for what we love. At least you know your clam is appreciating the extra comfort of cool air. :D The main reason I upgrade from PC's to MH's is to keep clams. :p

johnrags1234 - I wish I had room for tons more however I think I'm gonna max out at 6. I'd be happy with that. I don't have any more room on my sandbed and I don't wanna place the clams on rocks.

How can you tell it's a crocea? I wanna learn... LOL, I find it funny all this time I have been calling the clam something it isn't. :rolleyes:

Well now at least I have one of almost every species of clam; 1 Derasa, 2 Maximas, and 1 Crocea.
