New Clown & BTA

Just wanted to share a pic of the Maroon Clown and BTA that I picked up at Coral Reef Aquatic a couple of days ago. The clown is already hosting :)

Very nice, Mariner! They are so cute together, too. Makes me feel like turning my empty 29G into a clown and anemone tank, too.

Neat! What lucky coral is "hosting" the BTA?

Jim
Well, the BTA has lodged underneath one of my yellow Turbinaria. So far, there does not seem to be much damage...this coral doesn't have polyps on the underside. But I'm thinking I should probably move it, if the BTA will let go of it.

Kewl!Maybe I should get a BTA.My clowns have paired up but host the corner of the tank
The large Ocellaris I have had in my 75g for 3 1/2 years will not host in anything, but the little one that I got at the MTRC frag swap last year will NOT leave one of my toadstools. I actually entered his pic in this month's clownfish photo contest over in the photography forum.

Tried BTA twice in the past, and neither one of them would ever stay put in one spot for long. The carpet in my avatar has only moved once since I got it about 18 months ago. Has your BTA been in the same spot since you got it?

Great shot of the clown!

I wish my pair would host in something. There are xenia, frogspawn, toadstool leather, etc., that clown fish often host in the tank, but they ignore all of them :(

That's a very nice picture by the way, Mariner. It looks like the toadstool likes him, too. Some of the long polyps look like they are hugging him. I hope you win.

Thanks Tomoko. If you look at that thread, you'll see that I've got no shot of winning, but I thought it would be cool to have an entry anyway.

Makes me wanna keep the hex and setup a species tank.
What kind of lighting ya got on there?
LOL, I've actually thought about seeing if you'd take some softies in trade for the hex to do the same thing... but I don't want to keep up with 3 tanks.... two is too many. BTW, the light is a 250w Hamilton 14k over my 40g.

As some of you know, I've had a lot of grief with this 40g, hopefully it's on the way back, but I've given up on keeping it as a dedicated SPS tank. Someone PM'd me for a pic of the whole tank, so here ya go. Notice that I did move the Turbinaria. The clown and anemone are in the right corner near the bottom.

Great looking tank, Mariner!

If you change your mind on the trade, let me know. I also have a flat back hex I could use for a species tank.

No. It moved under a rockledge for the first 24 hours (I figured it was getting acclimated), but then it moved to it's present position and has been there for a day.
I've heard that they can move quite a bit, but I talked to Mrs. 8Ball, and she said that they've got a couple that stay put pretty well. I think having a hosting clownfish might help keep it happier...dunno...

Mariner,
What kind of camera are you useing for close ups and how?I cant get good close ups
Well, the pics of the Maroon & BTA and the full tank shot were just taken with my Fuji Fine Pix A210 -- a pretty cheap 3 mega-pixel digital camera, but it does have a nice close-up option.
The pic of the Ocellaris was taken with a super fancy gazillion mega-pixel digital camera on loan from the college where my daughter goes...she's the Yearbook editor. :)
