New clownfish/anemone tank setup. Suggestions please

He really seems to get a kick out of it. The anemone doesn't seem to mind too much. It never shrinks up or anything. It is really fun to watch. I am going to try to get a short video of it. When I do, I will post it here.

How's the second anemone doing? It didnt look its best in the last photos. The one you posted looks really good and so do your clowns.

This is one of my favorite tanks. It very simplistic and clean, I LOVE it. If I had the money, I'd do one of these along with my main tank. Great job :)

Thanks. The first anemone I had is back at the LFS. It is doing fine, but since I recently came across a red haddoni I no longer wanted 2 greens. The owner of the LFS has it in one of his display tanks with a pair of Clarkii clowns. I should have my red carpet Friday morning. I hope it is in as good condition as the two greens are.

Cool, cant wait to see the Red Carpet. Never seen one in a store or in person but they do look really nice. Good luck!

I ams ure you said somewhere about how much LR you have in the tank...but could you repeat it please? Beautiful tank...I am about to set my 36x36x22 anemone tank up....great thread!

cool. be sure and post up on that. i'm gonna build the same think, but a few inches taller. if you want, PM me and i'll tell you what i have in mind. not that you'd want to know.

Thanks all.

MyReef - I have 20 lbs of Bali live rock in there. It looks like more, but Bali rock is extremely light and porous.

Update. my 200 gallon tank is gone. The bottom cracked yesterday and fell out. Almost everything is dead, but that is a whole other thread. (Large tank forum)
What I was able to save has been transferred to the clown tank. It is suddenly very full of stuff. Here are some pictures. P.S. these were taken before adding my new red haddoni. I will have to get some pictures of it up soon. It is magnificent.

Lookin great. I really like those returns in the bottom corners, it seems like it would be great flow for an anemone.
Some constructive criticism.
Not to rain on a great thread, but I (for one) really do not like those returns in the bottom corners for many reasons.
Firstly, the best place to agitate water is at the surface, and the best way to do it is with returns from the main pump. In the event of a power failure, only the first few top inches of water will drain to your sump if returns are kept near the water's surface.
Secondly, Haddon's anemone will not like the water flow from such low returns- you'll most likely need to keep them pointed away from the anemone.
Thirdly, I know you have a check valve, but what if it fails?
It does not appear your sump has enough capacity to catch all of the water that will drain from your aquarium. If the check valve fails, all water above the top of those returns will drain to your sump.
With check valves there is also a phenomenon know as the "hammer": water pressure rushing downward causes a rapidly closing check valve to bounce off of the internal seal repeatedly (which sounds like a hammer pounding) and the result is a slow draining of the aquarium. (I've seen this happen personally.)
In my opinion and from years of personal experiences-
never rely on a check valve.
Great looking cube!

I have a question for Gary...I have a blue carpet (S. Haddoni)in my 300 that has turned into a fish eater...(always suspected him)...anyway...I want to make my 120 anemone tank around this carpet...what is the best way to remove him without damage? I have had him for about 4 years or so and it is about the size of a dinner plate....Thanks for any help.

Beautiful anemone. Have you tried running a night light? It might prevent midnight fish snacking by your anemone. Moving a large established Haddon's anemone is always a daunting task.
If you must move it, I would slowly (very slowly!) raise the rock that it's foot is buried under. Take a credit card (or similar edge) and slowly/gently pry up the anemones foot. You might also try aiming a powerhead at it. Have plenty of towels and time to spare on hand when you undertake the chore of relocation. Good luck!

Thanks Gary...I thought about the water movement to "irritate" him...I have moved him twice in the last 4 years...no harm no foul...although I got luck both other times...he seems entrinched now. I will keep you posted.
