New clowns, sick and dying?

I just bought two occ clowns and one of them starting to poop stringy white. Read about it previously as I had three benggai cardinals die of the same symptom and I CANT HAVE ANOTHER FISH DIE UNDER MY KEEP!

A fish medicating specialist suggested soaking the food in something for the internal bacteria or parasite but I cant remember the name... PLEASE HELP!

praziquantel or garlic. The prazi can't be fed to inverts tho if I understand correctly. Good luck! I had/have a BW occ getting over this. I found that keeping her nice and fat with mysis, cyclops, and marine cousine infused with lots of garlic extreme seems to be working for me.*knocks on wood* But I have been battling this since july...! She got quite skinny too, but gotta keep them eating and the garlic seems to keep them eating IME.

i might add that for best results with the garlic, put 4 or 5 drops on whatever food you are feeding and try to let it dry on their(it should be quite soaked) if you dont let it dry at least let it soak in for a bit. But letting it dry on the food (ie do the mornings food the night b4 and the nights food right after feeding in the moring) works the best.

Thanks. Will add a bit of the garlic to the food, wasnt sure if I should be medicating or not. Like I said, I had 3 cardinalfish die of what may be the same symptoms, and definately dont that to happen to the clowns.

Thanks.

You can use prazipro in a qt. It will kill any inverts/worms, etc., in your DT.

It's a five day treatment. Can you can set up a qt for your fish?

+1 on this post. Feed them good food, soaked for awhile in garlic. Worked every time for me so far. Good luck.

Thanks all.

Amazon, I do not have a qt tank (i know, i know). Currently working on a new build and will keep my 24 running for a qt. For future what is prazipro good for? (parasite, bacterial, etc.?)
