I know this is bad, but what is the cause, and what can be done. They were swimming around fine upon introduction, although they were getting blown around quite a bit by a koralia 4. Now its night time. I checked on them and they were struggling to stay on top of a magfloat near the top of the aquarium. I moved this down a few inches and now they are hovering at the very top. They were just introduced about 5 hours ago btw.

Im not too worried about brook as these fish came from a local breeder who is very reputable. He only has 1 pair of clowns that he breeds, so unless mommy and daddy have brook after years of breeding, it has nowhere to come from. I will still watch for it carefully though.

I've noticed unless clowns are residing on a hosting anemone at night.. with strong flow.. they sleep at the top corners of the aquarium?

Currently, my healthy true perc is doing this, my old TR perc did it for 6 months. The only clowns that didn't do it, were the ones sleeping on an anemone, and my sick true percs in the QT tank :(

My onyx and picasso did it for a couple of months I bought them some long anthelia and the sleep there during the day they swim around.

I bought an ocellaris and he goes to the top of the tank during lights out. He leaves the plate coral he hosts and stays right by the overflow.

i would like to say thats not true. I have 6200gph in my 90 and my clowns would sleep in the sand at night with no problems.

Every clown is different....

My clowns do this also. They go in a back corner during the night to sleep. No big deal. When the lights come back on they are all over the place.

Let's face it, clowns are just weird like that! I had a pair of B&W clowns that would only hang around the hydor-flow attachment in the back of my tank, day and night!
