I just got this new coral about 5 days ago.

And I noticed on the base of it a white bleaching.

Not sure why it doing this.

All of my other email corals are doing great..

Can't really answer any questions without levels.

Ca, Alk, Mag, Salinity, Nitrate, Phosphates?

Lighting?

It seems as if your Digitata is doing nice, while it is an easy coral, your other acro is not so "easy."

Issue could be shock. Issue could be, if you're using LED's, is it's blasting it with light it is not used too. Issue could be both, resulting in death.

Explain to us more about your tank so we can help ya! :D

Ca is 410 to 420
Salinity 1.24 to 1.25
Nitrate 0
Mag don't have a test kit.
Alk don't have
Ph 8.0
Phosphate how to you test that?

Lights are ai nano set to 50% for the white

Gotta get one of those Alk test kits ;)
Salifert is easy and accurate. Also salifert makes an easy phosphate kit while you're at it. Both are very important numbers to know if you wanna expand your sps collection. I test for mag too which is useful to know but not super duper necessary

My first thoughts are either red bugs or stress, look up causes of STN. It's not bleaching as in your lights are too bright. I had a piece do that a while ago from an Alk swing and I just fragged the piece above the damage and it saved it from progressing.

Ok went to fish store and tested water.
Alk is 9.5 dkh to high yikes no wonder why I can keep coral like this before or candy canes
Phosphate is 0.03 - 0.1

We belive it's my cuurent salt that is doing the high alk (the salt in the orange box). I have changed the salt to red max coral pro. We are doing a couple small water changes to reduce it.

And chemi pure plus to reduce the Phosphate..and overall tank performance

And my test kits will be here this week... So I Can monitor the reduce values.

When you get your new test kits it would be nice to know what the Alk is on your new bucket of Red Sea. The label shows it having a 12.3-12.7 at 1.025 (35.0ppt) which is really high. It may not have helped lower your Alk and maybe it was more to do with your tank consuming it (digi's and coralline). Did someone recommend that salt based on lowering your high Alk? If it tests that high I wouldn't be doing any large percentage water changes.

Good luck and let us know how the sps does
