New Crocea not doing well

Under Dual 250W Halides with dual 24 watt Acticis

Clam is 3-4". Has been in tank for 4 days. Was under PC light at the store.

It is stil reactive but is not opened more than 1/4-1/2 inch. Is on the sandbed of my 90 bow.

Any ideas of what I should try?

Was he open at the store? If so then something in your tank may be picking on him.

They are rock dwelling clams.. Move him out of the sandbed and up as high as u can or atleast mid tank level...

He was open at the store and looked great. I will move him tonight and see how he does.

I keep mine in the sand, I just put a peice of live rock under him so he can attach.

Likly shock from increase light. Just leave him on the sand in lower light area until he is use to the new light. I keep my Crocea on the sand for years and years without problem. Better to look at (look down to the clam rather than sideway) on the sand also if light intensity is enough.
