Well first off I'm dealing with a 92 corner tank and the curved glass and reflections from it are going to always be fun dealing with... this is my first SLR so any secrets, suggestions, or advice that I could improve my pics please share.

As mentioned above I'm using a Nikon D80 with the 18-135 kit lense on a tripod for the pics below.

Thanks in advance
Brandon

I'm a camera newbie, so no advice there, but I have to say that your tank is STUNNING! The colour is amazing. How long has that beauty been running?

Thank you.

The system was running in a 55 gallon tank for three years and was just moved to the current 92 corner in May 06.

WOW! absolutly Amazing! and Even alittle Stunning! Of course Ive seen it in person. But the Pictures are pretty good

I know what you mean. I've got a 54g corner tank and it's hard to take good pics with the curve in the glass. Your pics are pretty good though. Love you zoa collection. If you ever frag some let me know :)

If you have shutter speed priority you certainly want to use it. I use 1/25 on a tripd with my ISO set at 100/200. I find that this is a perfect combination for my tank pics. I also have a92 corner. At 1/25 it is very difficult to take pics without a tripod. here are some pics i have taken.

Seems like you're shooting ata an angle from the top down. This along with the curve of the glass makes it hard for the lens to focus correctly. Try to shoot as perpendicular to the tank and subject as possible. Other than that everything looks very healthy and pics look very good.

nice pics!

are those two colonies of zoas growing on frag discs, or did you put them on a dead plate coral? (thats what it looks like).

just curious, looked kinda cool. ;)
