New Derasa

I'm going to be bring a Derasa home soon and have some snails in my tank that I think are cone snails. Will they jury the clam? The snails only come out at night and hide in the sand bed durning the day. The also look like they have a stinger on them. Should they be removed? Thanks

sounds like they are cerith snails, i believe they will only bother a clam if it is already dying or dead,other then that they are harmless, a pic would help better id them just to be on the safe side

I will try too get a pic. The snails came with a setup so I am not sure what they are.

Some type of nassarius snail. Mine have not touched my 4 clams.

They are perfectly harmless detritus feeders. They do not sting. They only eat excess food or things that are dead or dying.

Could be a whelk that is more predatory then the vibex type and would eat other snails and possibly clams.
