new ER skimmer

Hey Jeremy,

I just bought a new RS80 promo skimmer from you on Saturday. I get home and set it up and the pump is so loud that I can't hear myself think in the same room. I checked the needlewheel and magnet and no problems there. Do you have any ideas? I noticed that it came with a Gen-x pump and not a sedra. Is that normal? If it can't be quieted, can I exchange it for a different skimmer? It for a tank in my living room and my pregnant wife won't stand for it!

Hi Chris,

Sorry to hear about that issue. I believe ER had a problem with the impeller being cut too long, creating this problem. I'm not 100% sure here, but I think that is what I had heard. If you give Chip a call directly at 949-770-9913 tomorrow, he should be able to express ship a new one right out to you.

I just received my RS 80 Promo tonight and am having the same issue. Also have an issue with some missing part from the ocean runner pump. I'll give you guys a call in the morning.
