I just bought a 75 gal wet/dry system for my 58 gallong tank that has 85 lbs of live rock and somebody told me not to put in the bio balls. Why is this? Will they hurt something?
bio balls act as a nutrient trap...collecting mass amounts of goop over time and spit off nitrates......also allowing lots of area for hosting nitrying bacteria.. they should be on the surface of your live rock, not on the surface of your bioballs.
