There is a Taura virus that can cause such spots, and if this is what your shrimp has, there is nothing that I know of that can be done for it. It is contagious to other shrimp so I would probably not introduce it or buy shrimp from that same source again.

Any idea how long he will make it if it is a virus ?
From what I could find about black spots on shrimp im thinking it might be from an injury or having to do with molting
Hopefully it goes away when he molts
He isn’t trying to pick or scratch at it and is acting normal
Going to keep a close eye on him and hope for the best

I'm not all that familiar with the virus, if that is what it is, to say how long a shrimp could last with it. I'm also hoping that it is a molting problem and will clear after its next molt. Good luck with it.
