New Fish!

MyMonkey

Persona Non Grata
Was out and about yesterday and what did I find but the cuttest little fish. A very small Centropyge argi, or Cherub Pygmy Angel. Tiny thing at less than one inch in length.

He was acclimated yesterday and is out and about today. However, looking a bit stressed. Breathing fast and has a tiny patch of odd looking scales on his rigt flank near the ventral fin there.

Hope all is well with this little buggar. Will be watching him. He was picking at the rocks for food but did not take the pellet I added this am.

Will make a perfect fish in my little 33 Gallon once it is rolling. :)

Great fish. Beautiful color! I had to get rid of mine for coral nipping :(

I had one I falsely accused of coral nipping. It took WEEKS to get him out of a 180......only to find out it was innocent. It's back in the display, fat and happy. My wife is pleased. She hated seeing it in purgatory (basement sump). The fish and I still have difficulty making eye contact despite my appologies.

i love mine as well great fish lots of personality.

when i first added mine it did the same was easliy stressed and even had the patchy scales just watch it closley and make sure its eating ok.

Well, I am now advised on our local club forum that this fish requires a much larger tank than my 33 gallon as well as that this fish is a TERROR. Was advised by LFS that this guy was like the coral beauty. I had one in teh past for over a year and he was a perfect angel. (Pun Intended)

What gives? Does this little buggar need a bigger tank and are they that aggressive?

Only aggression I've seen from mine is towards newcomers and that only lasts a day or two. Love the fish otherwise, lots of personality and they never stop moving.

It was nipping your corals even though it had macro and microalgae growing in the tank?? Which coral was it nipping?

Sadly, I think this little fish is no more. Have not seen the fish since Monday. He was looking pretty stressed. Dadgum.

Yes, algae for it to eat, never mind the COPIOUS amounts of food being thrown into the tank for all the anthias. Not 5 minutes after a feeding though, she'd be back to ripping polyps off my gorgs and all my acros :( It sucked, because they were soooo pretty. I pulled the male too, just in case, even though he didn't pick on anything.
