I just had to share these pics of the new Anthias I received today.

They are awesome looking, I have 1 Male and 4 Females. They are still in quarantine right now but they are already taking Mysis shrimp.

Hope you enjoy these!

where did you get these? They are beautiful. Are they an easy anthias or one of the more difficult ones to raise?

I purchased these at a local fish store in Tustin, CA.

They are a little finicky but worth the work, I have been trying to get these for a year now.

Thanks

I picked up a pair too, from the same store. I had never seen them in person before, just the pic on the internet that everyone thought was photoshopped p. lori. So nice!! Are yours eating mysis voraciously or just picking at it? Mine would just kind of pick at a piece or two and spit it back out. I had to go buy arcticpods, which they really go after. What temp are you keeping them at?

Man those anthias are like little jewels they look so tasty like small pieces of candy I want to suck on until they are all melted in my mouth. Tell Ali I said 'widevil'

Yes, I do have a fish tank. All of my livestock was legally collected and imported

I thought it was funny when you said that, I don't know why, it was just so matter of fact.

I was under the impression they need cooler water, so I passed on them when I saw them for sale. True?

I wouldn't say these anthias need cooler water per se but they will not tolerate a warm water reef tank. Keep them in the 75-78 range and they should do alright.

It sounds like Spock reporting on his tank.

pecaco34: I have mine eating the Arctic pods also, this was to stimulate there eating habits then I started feeding Mysis shrimp. They had to be broken up into real small pieces though and now are eating them well. My tank is at 78 degrees. Hope yours do well also.

That's funny nobody has mentioned the name of the fish store that were selling these(LOL).

I was gone for a week up in Mt. Lassen trout fishing and was worried that they weren't all going to make it but they are healthier than ever. I had a great fish keeper, my Mom.

Thanks Mom
