New Frogspawn Placement Question

I have a new frogspawn in my tank and I am a bit worried about the placement. I have a large rock in the front middle of my tank where I always had in mind that I would like to place a large frogspawn and now I am worried that the polyps are going to be damaged as they are rubbing against the side of the rock from current movement. Should I be worried about the polyps rubbing against the rock? Should the polyps be more up above the rock?

The front center spot in this picture is where I have now placed the softball size frogspawn. I will take a picture later.

Thanks
Pat

I wouldn't be too worried about them touching the rock as long as the base of the coral doesn't have the chance of ripping the polyp against the rock. But I am confused as to why it would rub at all. If you use some epoxy and have a full head of frogspawn there should be sort of a "stem" attached to it. Therefore, it would stick out from the rock all together. As it grows and adds heads, it will need more room, so make sure it has some room around it for growth.

My hammer coral is placed close to one of my rocks. The polyps are alway touching the rock and are never affected. Just my .02

Thanks all. This morning I checked the placement of the coral and the stony stem is wedged into a hole in the top of the rock and the soft tissue part of the stem is above the hole in the rock. It is only the finger polyps that lay over on the rock when it is fully extended and rub against the rock in the current. I thought I saw some dark areas on the lower fingers but when the polyp is pulled back some, it looks ok. So as you say jamgar, I will continue to observe. Thanks again!
