This is my new GBTA yes it is in a 12 gallon but it it a species tank with just the one GBTA and my clowns and I'm in the process of an upgrade to a 120. I also have a 70 watt sunpod HQI and the tank has been running for about 9 months. I know this is contraversial but please don't kill me. Anyway I have the worst picture of tank taking skills ever but here they are. Does it look happy to you? It has been in there since yesterday. It walked around on the rock for about 20 minutes but hasn't moved since. A couple of its tentacles are curled is that ok? This is my first anemone but I have spent hours reading this forum and Karens rose site etc. I want to take good care of it. Thanks so much. Oh also you can see how angry the clowns are about the pics lol.

Ok kill me just tell me if you think he looks ok. He looks good to me but he is my first anemone and I don't want to mess up. Does he look ok for the amount of time he's been in the tank? The suspense is killing me.

well how is the mouth? how quickly did he stick to the rock? do the tentacles stick to your finger when u touch them? try feeding him in a few days and see if he eats and keeps it down.

The mouth is mostly closed sometimes a tiny bit open. It took him probably about 5 minutes to attach to the rock but longer to attach fully. Maybe 15 or 20 minutes. When I touch him he doesn't seem sticky. This worries me. He seems to pull away and close up like he's scared. should he still be sticky? If so what does that mean?

Well he looks fine to me. I don't think they are always sticky myself. I know when I feed them, sometimes they're not and the food floats away. If they are sticky, they will eat.

I think that the stickiness comes only when they need to eat, as I have a similar experiance as DC but I only feed once a month.

I would say it looks healthy to me, and it looks like it should be fine! Good luck, and nice anem!

The anemone looks fine. In that small of a tank, I would suggest you change one or two gallons weekly. Also, I wouldn't feed very much, maybe once or twice a week, a small amount, say the size of a peanut. How do your water parameters look: specific gravity, ph, alk, temp?
