New Gig coming in

So I'm going to be getting new gig tonight or tommorrow from a buddy, and this gig has been in captivity for 1 1/2 years in two peoples tanks. Here's a link to a pic of it http://postimage.org/image/23a7n1lz8/

So he's got under halides, I believe they are 250's but I'll double check. I run two sets of t5's with blues on 10 hours and all on for four. Don't think I should light acclimate, but could use advice(He has on bottom of tank, and I'm planning on placing mine in the same)

How close to a powerhead can I place it, I've got a korialia 8 that I'd like to place the nem about 4 inches away from. Is this ok or should I move powerhead?

Is there any good techinique in taking nem from container to tank, or just where gloves and lift it?

Any other advice?

Thanks

I used gloves and lifted it from the bottom....while my anemone was perfectly fine...I would highly suggest against doing this. The anemone can get smashed under its own weight..and when you pull it out..you'll know right away from what I'm talking about...they get heavy when full of water. If possible I'd do an in water transfer, while this is harder to do, I would suggest doing it this way.

Not sure about having a Koralia 8 that close to him. I have a Koralia 4 about 6 inches away from mine which provides some good flow for him, just that much flow might be too pushy for it. Even though mine absolutly loves flow and all. I also second the lift in a tupperware tub or something and put it into the tank that way as I took mine and lifted it from underneath and it was pretty heavy and I think would be crushing him which is not good for him. Also my recommendation would be to have all the lights going for longer than 4 hours to keep him happy. But I guess you will be able to visually see how it goes The best odds that have been given during a study on this species for long term success is running them 8 hours with full light. Also you can't over feed these guys and I feed mine daily with the fish and it absolutely loves it! Good luck and it looks like its in great shape
