New Goniopora

I know when I first picked up this goni it would just scare in when I would try to feed it but then either I got better at gently feeding it or it got use to being fed.

Now ricks is a monster I don't think I've ever seen a goni that big that's pretty cool it must take forever to get that size.

Agian never target fed, as with all my coral...

to help feedin it turn off your pumps and try to target feed as much as u can. takes the goni a few sec to realise what is has on it tenticals till it will retract them. i usualy leave my pumps off around 5 min to help it catch and keep as much as it can.

Ricks, have you ever had any little gonis bud off from that huge colony?

No buds from the mother, it has almost fully encrusted the rock it's mounted on..

How much flow and Light is your getting Rick? Mine seems to be doing good but i am afraid it may be getting to much flow as it is not extended like that.

Here are a couple of shots of the flow. Keep in mind this flow is originating from the other side of an 8' tank. Coming from (2) Iwaki 100's and (3) 6201 Tunze on each side of the tank. Which while making the flow heavy also makes it very random..

With this shot, flow was off..
