I just received the Artemia Hatchery Dish from Brine Shrimp Direct and was wondering if anyone had tried this method. I won't have any bb for at least another 36 hours, so I'll keep everyone updated.
I put the eggs in at 3:30pm yesterday and at 1:00am they were hatching. No aeration needed, just fill tray w/sw and wait. The newly hatched are attracted to the light in the open center strainer basket. All you do is lift the basket from the center and voila!
I just started using one of these and they are great. I have had a constant supply of bbs for almost 2 days and then start again. They started hatching in less than 24 hours.
Kim, this is my first batch. Do you gut load your bb? I'm doing this for a scooter blenny along w/a 10 g pod tank until I can hopefully get him to accept some prepared food.

I've had one for a couple of years. Works great for hatching brine to give to the reef. But the numbers wouldn't sustain a brood of fry. Not in my experience anyways.
