new- help -dont just look!!

patience, my friend. You are a long ways from being ready to order your tank. The longer you plan, the better the result and less chance you'll leave this hobby in disgust. I really all depends on your budget, really. Just don't skimp out on the lights or the skimmer

BTW, by "nitrire" he meant nitrite

Good luck

You should be at the information gathering stage right now and not the buying stage. Read the books you ordered, ask people's opinions - but leave it at that for now. In this hobby you will learn patience - the easy way or the hard way.

What I would recommend is to find out what type of corals you want to try to keep and find out the light requirements of those. With those PC lights, you can keep some softies and zoanthids, but not anenomes, tridacnid clams, SPS, most LPS ,etc. I think with a little research you will figure out what corals you want to keep, and let that determine your lights, not vice versa.

THat second coral is a sun coral (http://www.flippersandfins.net/CoralOrangeSun.htm for instance).

VERY hard to keep. YOu have to feed it by hand everyday.

The first pic is mostly Zooanthids (Zoos, Zoas, whatever) and they can do with less light.

The "coloured sticks" in that picture are SPS (small polyped "stony" corals, or more correctly "Slecterians" or something to that effect).
And they generally need lots of light.

In the Sun coral picture, the things to the top and left of the pic are SPS.

Some other stuff are softies in the first pic.

Reef Central has reviews of particular equipment, you might want to look there as well.

(not sure if any of them ship to Australia).

2 clown fish
1 blue tang
and somethink to be the center fish
any thoughts??

what cen i do for a clean up squd??

"YES I AM STILL LEANING"

am i over doing it more less??

the zoanthids are a great choice. I would scratch the frogspawn and suncoral though. They are too difficult to keep for a beginner. It will also give you something to look forward to in the future after you've been successful with easier coral. Try some softies, mushrooms, or xenia.

If you want an anemone with those clowns, it is best to buy metal halide lighting, which is pricey. At the very least VHO or T-5, but that may not be enough. I will defer to other's opinions on this one since I don't use this type of lighting.

what cen i have insed of 2 clown fish??

cen i have one with compact fluorescent lights?

ok, to start off you can't get a tang, they get too big and they need lots of space to swim, go to www.liveaquaria.com , go to the marine section and look at the fish, they will tell you the tank size (your tank is around 40 gallons)

the picture is a brain coral, but here in australia they are called lobophyllia.
