New hiding rbta help.

Been reeding a lot of posts but wanted to get some of the members take. I just recieved a 3 1/2" rbta from divers den. Looks good and healthy. After acclimation, I turned off the power heads and lights and set it mid way up the rocks. It grabbed ahold of the rocks within a minute. Then over the next half hour, walked a couple inches and then into a small gap in the rocks which is basically near the back of the tank with almost no light at all. So I have to shine a flashlight to see him back there. I squirted a bit of mysis back there and it stuck to the tentacles and I think he ate. Hard to tell back there. Water parameters are good with all other fish, invert and corals still doing great, including the open brain coral I received with the bta. So how long should I give him to move into a more open and viewable spot for feeding and light? Do I need to annoy him slightly to help him along? Thanks for the help.

The anemone will go wherever it wants to and really needs no help in finding his perfect spot. Unfortunately you and him may haves totally different ideas on where this should be. I would turn the powerheads and light back to normal so he can find where he is happiest. If you keep messing with flow and light, he will just keep moving. In a day or so you may see him coming out into the light more and more, hopefully in a place you like.

Agreed with above. they will go where they want. Do as stated above and let it go where its wants. Dont mess with it, they are sensitive and stressing it out further could lead to its downfall. let it get acclimated.

I agree with what the others have said. While no one likes to spend money on something for it never to be seen, it will move where it wants to be. I had a sweet rose bubble tip that found the back side of my tank hidden from everyone the best place to be. I would leave it alone for a few days and let him pick a spot, if after some time he does not move, try adjusting your powerheads to change the flow a little. It may coax him to move to a better spot.

To be honest I am not sure how long they can go without eating or light, but I suspect he will move when he needs to eat and get light.
